I spent the long cold winter watching bass fishing on tv, sharpening my hooks, organizing my tackle and dreaming of my favorite lake...Fox Lake.

The opener was cold and windy and I talked to lots of guys that caught the skunk and headed in early. The landing was full at 6:00 am and empty at 10:00 am! But my plan paid off - we tucked ourselves in shallow bays and the river. We got out of the wind and the cold and found the warmest water we could. The plan paid off with over 80 big bass, 4 pike and 1 awesome musky.

The biggest fish including the musky came on bass jigs with chomper tails.
